Tappers couple off a portion of a microwave signal.
Tappers are commonly used for in building applications. basically they're an uneven power divider. Some terminology is unique to tappers; the "db" value is a ratio of the 2 output signals, as opposed to a coupling value.. If a tapper has 10watts into it, 2.5 watts out of one port, & 7.5 watts out of the other port, this is a 3:1 split, & is a 4.7db tapper--which could also be realized by a 6db coupler
